Intimate & Fun City Centre Photoshoot // Chester Wedding Photographer

I’ve been fortunate enough that my career has taken me all over the world to capture weddings in some incredible places. But where I actually live, in the beautiful Roman city of Chester, I very rarely get to shoot, so when Nina & Konrad got in touch last year to book in for a 1 hour photoshoot in the city I was made up and have been looking forward to it since the start of the year. The couple got legally married earlier that morning in an intimate ceremony over in Wrexham and wanted some nice shots in their outfits before heading off for a meal at nearby Shrub. As I only had an hour to work with, we decided to start off with a quick walk around Chester Cathedral to take in the Museum of the Moon exhibition before heading down through Godstall Lane and down the high street with the famous Chester clock as our backdrop. I wanted to lean into some more editorial images and shoot some flash for these so I took the couple to Abbey Square, a nearby hidden gem of cobbled streets and vibrant town houses and got everything I needed in a few minutes. It isn’t always this easy to get plenty of great shorts on a tight schedule but these two were so comfortable with each other that I just stepped back and let them be and caught all the magic in the moments between them. When I posted some of these images to Instagram I did get a few messages along the lines of “OH MY GOD I FOLLOW THE BRIDE ON TIK TOK, SHE’S AMAZING!”

LONDON MICRO WEDDING // Chelsea Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Couples choose the micro wedding route for all types of reasons, and all of them are valid as you should always have your day your way. For Mitch & Poppy, this was part 1 of their wedding celebrations, ‘The Legal Bit’ if you will, as they were heading to Italy the following week for the main event. For their London leg it was looking like a quick stroll around Chelsea with their excellent pooch Hugo, a short ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall with their nearest and dearest and then lunch down the road at The Ivy Chelsea Garden. And for me 2 hours to capture it all into a mini wedding album to keep the couple going until their Italian leg. We headed to some of their favourite nearby spots and I kept things candid for the portraits as these two needed absolutely no direction in looking comfortable and in love together on camera.

Wyresdale Park // Lancashire Wedding Photography

Wyresdale Park is one of Lancahire’s most stunning venues and it never gets any less impressive when I shoot there. And when the sun is shining like we’re in the South of France as you arrive at the wedding, you know it’s going to be a good day. Faye and her bridal party had a relaxing morning in the house with some fizz whilst Arran and the boys were greeting the colourfully dressed guests over by the ceremony room. With the weather being so nice there was a real buzz in the air and it was smiles all round. Faye made her way to the ceremony bathed in gorgeous summer light and was greeted by her dog Dora on the way in before they both made their way down the aisle stealing the show. The ceremony room at Wyresdale has some of the best light anywhere in the country and it’s such a dream to shoot in there. After an epic confetti exit everybody headed round to the gardens for some drinks and canapes in the sun and I had loads of time to integrate into the wedding and capture tons of candids between the couple and their family&friends. Then as everybody headed inside to get seated for dinner we snuck off for some portraits.

Ryland’s Farmhouse // Cheshire Wedding Photography

Planning a wedding in the UK comes with one uncertainty that no amount of preperation can account for; the good old British weather. You can plan a wedding in the absolute height of summer and still say I do against a backdrop of dark clouds and hail. UNLESS that is you book me to photograph your wedding as I am blessed by the sun god Apollo and will act as your good weather charm, which brings me to the gorgeous cheshire marquee wedding of Maddie&Paul this past July hosted at Ryland’s Farmhouse and Events. This was my first time at Ryland’s and I was so impressed by the space, mixing the luxury marquee ceremony space with the picturesque outdoor farm setting. I arrived at prep hosted by Maddie’s parents who were kind enough…

Hawarden Estate Walled Gardens // Chester Wedding Photography

Recently I was lucky enough to shoot the very first wedding at Hawarden Estate’s Walled Gardens and it was an incredible wedding to capture. Robyn & Charlie tirelessly planned their day to bring together some amazing suppliers, giving their friends and family a day of fun, laughter, food & drink, dancing and dare I say some nice photos too. I spent the morning capturing the bridal prep in the castle(yes an actual castle) whilst the groomsmen were getting ready just down the way, which meant that I could move between the two and capture all of the chaos and calm. Robyn had her whole tribe with her in the stunning drawing room and for somebody who loves shooting the documentary side of bridal prep as much as I do it was a dream. After some bridal portraits and a reveal to Robyn’s bridesmaids, we headed to nearby Eccleston village for a lovely church ceremony before spending some time outside the church for drinks, hellos and a LOT of confetti. We always tell our couples to order twice as much confetti as they think they’re going to need for epic photos, and from now on I’m going to show people this wedding to explain what I mean. Robyn and Charlie then headed off for a drive together as the rest of us made our way back to Hawarden Estate for the rest of the festivities.
