Recently I was lucky enough to shoot the very first wedding at Hawarden Estate’s Walled Gardens and it was an incredible wedding to capture. Robyn & Charlie tirelessly planned their day to bring together some amazing suppliers, giving their friends and family a day of fun, laughter, food & drink, dancing and dare I say some nice photos too. I spent the morning capturing the bridal prep in the castle(yes an actual castle) whilst the groomsmen were getting ready just down the way, which meant that I could move between the two and capture all of the chaos and calm. Robyn had her whole tribe with her in the stunning drawing room and for somebody who loves shooting the documentary side of bridal prep as much as I do it was a dream. After some bridal portraits and a reveal to Robyn’s bridesmaids, we headed to nearby Eccleston village for a lovely church ceremony before spending some time outside the church for drinks, hellos and a LOT of confetti. We always tell our couples to order twice as much confetti as they think they’re going to need for epic photos, and from now on I’m going to show people this wedding to explain what I mean. Robyn and Charlie then headed off for a drive together as the rest of us made our way back to Hawarden Estate for the rest of the festivities.

Once we arrived back at The Walled Gardens I couldn’t believe how amazing everything looked. Beautiful flowers, amazing food and a table setup that could easily have been in the hills of Tuscany. As I said before, a group of top tier suppliers and all brought together and run by the amazing folks at Good Life Society. I honestly couldn’t take a bad photo. Once everyone had arrived, drinks and Canapés were flowing, we had archery, live music and despite us being in the middle of September in the North of England even some sun! After some time away together for portraits, Robyn and Charlie made their entrance and we enjoyed some speeches, toasts, some incredible food, music and dancing, sparklers, and lots and lots more dancing. If I could sum this wedding up in a word then it would be joy. The warmth of Robyn & Charlie was reflected in the day that they put together and in the friends and family who spent it with them, and it was one of my favourite weddings I’ve ever captured.
